Call of Duty: Black Ops wager match mode

Well I really was not expecting this! A great brand new multiplayer game mode, allowing you to put your money where your mouth is and gamble COD points.

There are 4 free for all game modes that allow you to gamble the points you build up in the game, and you only get your points by coming in the top 3 in game.
One in the Chamber
Exactly what is says on the tin, you spawn with a pistol and one bullet, once its gone its gone its up to staby Mc stab stab (knife) to kill your fellow gamblers, if your aim is good enough and you manage to shoot some one you pick up their bullet giving you an extra round.
This game mode appeals to the old school hardcore gamers who like a challenge.
Stick and Stones
All players start with the crossbow, ballistic knife and a tomahawk, again same rules you gotta finish in the top 3 to win your points, downside is you smacked with the tomahawk you are BANKRUPT and lose all points so watch your six guys.
Gun Game
An interesting new game mode, all players start off with pistols and with each kill you get a higher powered weapon (pistol,SMG,assault rifle etc) the player who gets all the weapons wins, simples.
Downside is you get knifed you drop down a weapon set.
Sharpshooter
All players spawn with the same random weapon and are forced to use that then the game after a fixed time will rotate.
With each kill you gain a perk and also a score multiplayer.

A nice little addition I may say, don't think ive come across a multiplayer game mode like it in my time.

But what I really hate is XP based systems that reward you for just killing things and not actually winning, for me the best ranking system was Halo 3, you lose games you lose XP simple as it forced you to work harder and improve your game, where as game like MW2 and such reward you for constant explosives spam and spraying bullets.
So what's your thoughts on the new game modes then guys?

The MOH Experience Part 2: Gunfighters
Sep 02, 2010 - 11:06 PM - by Turnsy1985
At first I was sceptical about picking up the new Medal of Honor in October having seen some of the multiplayer videos reminded me of the horror that was Modern Warfare 2 with its arcade style multiplayer.
But having watched a few of the new videos dished out by EA they are starting to bring me round to their wicked ways.
I got this vid in an email earlier today and thought nothing of it until I got bored and watched it and im like hey this is pretty sweet.

I have always been a fan of the Medal of Honor series, I remember playing the first one many moons ago on my PS one whilst on work experience back in the 90s, and Allied Assault on the PC in 2002, I hammered Allied Assault for endless hours during my college days damn great game it was.
But for some reason this instalment of the series didn't excite me as much,
I just palmed it off as a MW2 style shooter, but after doing a bit of research and digging around I was wrong.

Operating directly under the National Command Authority, a relatively unknown entity of handpicked warriors are called on when the mission must not fail. They are the Tier 1 Operators.
Over 2 million Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines wear the uniform. Of those, approximately 50 thousand fall under the direct control of the Special Operations Command. The Tier 1 Operator functions on a plane of existence above and beyond even the most highly trained Special Operations Forces. Their exact numbers, while classified, hover in the low hundreds. They are living, breathing, precision instruments of war. They are experts in the application of violence. The new Medal of Honor is inspired by and has been developed with Tier 1 Operators from this elite community. Players will step into the boots of these warriors and apply their unique skill sets to a new enemy in the most unforgiving and hostile battlefield conditions of present day Afghanistan.
There is a new enemy. There is a new war. There is a new warrior. He is Tier 1.
Medal of Honor focuses on two element of the US armed, regular infantry and special forces operators (Tier 1 Operator), these are often referred to as the hammer and scalpel, regular infantry providing the brute force and devastating blows whilst the scalpel or special forces provides the surgical strikes dealing precise blows to cripple enemies.
From what ive been reading up EA and Dice have really done their homework on this one, they have consulted with former U.S Tier 1 Operators to give you a realistic combat experience.
I for one cannot wait to get my hands on this game and dive straight into campaign, with input from former operators this is sure to be a blast.

Now I know the game has come under pressure from certain groups across the world because you get to play as a Taliban fighter, and those certain groups are free to express their views some of them do have a valid point i.e those who have lost family members in a combat zone I get their point and understand.

But I give credit to EA and DICE for taking time to research and consult former members of the armed forces in the construction of this game, from what ive gathered in some of the videos floating around out there the game is going to put you in the shoes of the soldier, in the leave a message trailer you hear a ranger make a call to his family and hear the voice mail kick in with his family on the other end and he leaves a message saying everythings ok then it cuts to a RPG7 flying into one of the CH47 Chinooks.

Multiplayer is going to be insane as well, we all know what good stuff EA and DICE have pumped out in the past and more recently the critically acclaimed Battle Field Bad Company 2.
Medal of Honor is due for release on 12/10/2010
